Netflix has released the first teaser trailer of the upcoming live-action TV series adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which will premiere on February 22, 2024. The series will consist of eight total episodes. The streaming service revealed the release date and the show’s first teaser trailer on Thursday during its Geeked Week presentation. The teaser trailer can be viewed below.

Based on the animated series from Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko that aired from February 21, 2005 to July 19, 2008. It consisted of 61 total episodes compiled into three seasons. The new Avatar: The Last Airbender was developed for Netflix by Albert Kim, with Takeshi Fukurkawa as the music composer.

The main cast for Avatar: The Last Airbender includes Gordon Cormier as Aang; Kiawentiio as Katara; Ian Ousley as Sokka; Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko; Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh; Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai; Ken Leung as Commander Zhao; Maria Zhang as Suki; Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula; Amber Midthunder as Princess Yue; Lim Kay Siu as Gyatso; and Danny Pudi as The Mechanist.

The franchise has also spawned a 2010 live-action film, comic adaptation sequels, novels, tabletop roleplaying game, and several upcoming animated entries from Avatar Studios. 

Avatar: The Last Airbender will premiere on Netflix on Feb. 22, 2024.
