The LycoReco Cafe X (formerly Twitter) account has recently made its first post since December 2023, featuring a delightful spring-themed illustration of the Lycoris Recoil heroines, Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue.

The illustration captures Chisato and Takina amidst blooming sakura trees, sitting together on a shared seat. Takina, holding a cup of coffee, gazes into the distance, while Chisato peacefully dozes off, resting her head on Takina's shoulder.

The Lycoris Recoil anime, originally aired during the Summer 2022 season, consisted of 13 episodes that were streamed internationally on Crunchyroll and Bilibili. In February 2023, a new anime project was announced. Crunchyroll provides the following synopsis for the series:

For these peaceful days――there’s a secret behind it all. A secret organization that prevents crimes: “DA – Direct Attack”. And their group of all-girl agents: “Lycoris”. This peaceful everyday life is all thanks to these young girls. The elite Chisato Nishikigi is the strongest Lycoris agent of all time. Alongside is Takina Inoue, the talented but mysterious Lycoris. They work together at one of its branches–Café LycoReco. Here, the orders this café takes range from coffee and sweets to childcare, shopping, teaching Japanese to foreign students, etc. It’s mostly tasks unbefitting of Lycoris. The free-spirited and optimistic pacifist, Chisato. And the cool-headed and efficient Takina. The chaotic everyday lives of this mismatched duo begin!

Shingo Adachi, known for his work as a character designer in Sword Art Online and WORKING!!, served as the director and series composer of the show at A-1 Pictures. Imigimuru, the mangaka behind This Art Club Has a Problem!, took on the role of character designer. Yuusuke Maruyama, who worked as the opening director and storyboarder for Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon: The Second Act, served as the assistant director. Kenji Sawada, the co-main animator for Shikimori's Not Just A Cutie, oversaw the weapons and action. Yumiko Yamamoto, the co-character designer for Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld, contributed as the sub-character designer. Asaura, the author of Shousetsu Knights of Sidonia: Kitto Arifureta Koi, provided the early story drafts for the anime.

The cast features Chika Anzai as Chisato, Shion Wakayama as Takina, Ami Koshimizu as Mizuki Nakahara, Misaki Kuno as Kurumi, and Kosuke Sakaki as Mika.

Additionally, the girls-with-guns anime has sparked two light novels, a manga adaptation, a manga spin-off, a manga anthology, and even a stage play.
