Lycoris Recoil’s Asaura’s New Female Buddy Action Manga Begins Serialization

Double Helix Blossom, a fresh "buddy action" manga written by Asaura, known for their work on Lycoris Recoil story drafts, has commenced serialization in Shogakukan's Weekly CoroCoro Comic. The first chapter made its debut on January 15 JST.
Set in a near-future Japan, Double Helix Blossom follows Kiku Shinonome, a cop who was put into cryogenic sleep 60 years ago due to a severe untreatable injury. Upon awakening, Kiku finds herself in a transformed Japan where private police and individuals with special abilities are the new norm. She becomes partnered with Kyo Tsukisagari, a formidable superpowered criminal.
Gomeyuki Nishiuma, known for their work on Juu-nichi Ato ni Tsuki ni Kaeru Kaguya-hime, is the artist behind the manga. The "character production" credit goes to illustrator SWAV.
Alongside the manga, a board game based on Double Helix Blossom is being developed. The game is designed by Masato Uesugi (Vulcanus) under the direction of Noriaki Watanabe (Vulcanus).
In addition to Lycoris Recoil, Asaura is renowned for their involvement in Ben-to, an action comedy light novel series centered around battles for discounted bento. Their other notable works include Kiiroi Hana no Aka, Death Need Round, Knights of Sidonia: Kitto Arifureta Koi, and Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days.
